CHANAKYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, Patna

The Chanakya National Law University was established under the Bihar Act No.24 of 2006. The University was included under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956 (vide notification no. F.9-24/2006(CPP-I) dated- 26th October 2006). The Bar Council of India accorded its approval to the University (vide its letter no. BCI: D 1507-2006 (LE: Mtg) dated - 18th September 2006).

The object of Chanakya National Law University is to build on the traditional ethos of Bihar and create a temple of learning. It aims at imparting quality legal education and organise advanced studies and research in all branches of law.

CNLU – Courses

The university has launched its B.A., LL.B (Hons.) 5 year integrated course in 2006. The university has already started Ph.D. and LL.D courses. It will soon start six PG. Diploma courses of one academic year during this academic session.

They include (1) P.G. Diploma in Human Rights; Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law, (2) P.G. Diploma in Industrial and Intellectual Property Law, (3) P.G. Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution, (4) P.G. Diploma in Cyber Laws, (5) P.G. Diploma in Disaster Management and Law and (6) P.G. Diploma in Disabilities and Law.

CNLU- Seats

Out of a maximum of 80 seats for B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Course 10 seats are meant for Foreign Nationals and 10 seats are meant for NRI’s.

CNLU- Admissions

Admission into five year integrated B.A, LL.B. (Hons.) shall strictly be on the basis of merit as determined by the Common Law Admission Test 2009

Foreign Nationals and NRI category candidates are exempted from taking the Common Law Admission Test and the rule concerning the age limit.

At the same time, admissions for LLD and PhD are through submission of the application for the courses available on the university website.

    Sir,
    I want to take admission in LAW on night sift in Mithila University,Darbhanga

    and want to take admission P.H.D in Human Rights with part time duration and I did P.G diploma

    Indian Institution of Human Rights,New Delhi .

    Could I take admission both cours once time, P.H.D and Law? I want to be law purpse for judicary exam.
    Please give me suggestion clearly.
